Dr. Jewel Amui-Bellon, licensed and board-certified gynecologist  and founder of Women for Women Medical Associates, LLC, in Marlton, has helped thousands of women of all ages and from across the globe with various fertility challenges and problems. Fertility is her specialty and it is her individualized, informative and compassionate approach to conception that sets her apart and makes for a highly impressive pregnancy success rate.
 

Amui-Bellon shares that she always starts with a thorough medical check-up combined with an in-depth conversation to truly get to know the woman she is trying to help get pregnant. “I pride myself on taking my time with patients,” she shares. “It is so important. Part of the healing process is to know exactly what the woman needs. I want to know her story. I want to really listen to her without rushing. Everything she tells me helps me to better navigate her problem and optimize her health so that conception and a healthy pregnancy can happen.”
 

She always starts her individual inquiry with three integral questions: Are there enough high-quality eggs to assure a successful pregnancy? Is there sufficient sperm to fertilize the egg? And is there a good uterine environment to house a baby for nine months? When they have been answered, addressed and supported, she assures that, most of the time, there’ll be successful pregnancy outcomes.She then advises in aiding conception either through regular sexual relations, Intra-Uterine Insemination (IUI) or In Vitro Fertilization (IVF).
 

In terms of sexual relations, she first helps to educate and enhance the natural cycles in several ways. When relations have not assured a successful pregnancy or when there’s a male factor issue, IUIs tend to be the next line of treatment. IUI means that the sperm is ejaculated outside of the woman, analysed, washed and concentrated, and then placed into the woman’s uterus with or without the use of medications and monitoring. 
 

IVF, the last available option available, is the process whereby multiple eggs are recruited and harvested after injectable medications are given. The eggs are then fertilized in the lab with the partner’s sperm and then the best embryos are transferred into the woman’s uterus. IVF is considered an aggressive procedure as it requires injectable medications, frequent monitoring, labs and ultrasounds.
 

Amui-Bellon was driven by a passion to help women since she was a little girl. “Women are important to society,” she declares. “If their health is optimal, they can do anything. A lot of homes run on what women bring to the table, so my goal is to optimize the health of the woman, as well as her happiness.”
 

She’s aware that infertility can be emotionally traumatizing and that adding on pressure doesn’t help. “Women in their late 40’s or 50’s come to me who dream of having a child and have been told they can’t. Sometimes someone will have had 12 miscarriages. They come to me as a last resort. To help them realize their dream of becoming a mother is very rewarding,” she concludes.
 

She recently helped a woman who was told by another physician that IVF was her only option. Amui-Bellon ran some tests on her and called her the next day while she was at work to inform her that she was making an egg on the functioning side. The woman told her boss that she had doctor’s instructions to go home. The next time she saw Amui-Bellon, she was pregnant.
